Citrus & Sol: A Love Letter to Sunshine and Spain

My latest collection is inspired by a time in my life that feels like an absolute lifetime ago.
Twenty years ago, after two years in art school and a serious bout of disillusionment, I wasn’t sure if being an artist was the right choice for me. How would I make enough money to get by? Would I have to get another job just to support my art? Is the life of an artist truly sustainable? I had too many doubts and needed to take some time to figure out what I really wanted. So after much deliberation, my husband and I packed up our little life and moved to Spain.
We fell in love with everything: the slow afternoons, the color of the buildings, the food (especially the food), and of course, the endless sunshine. Spain gave us a new way of seeing life and time to explore.

It would still take me years to circle back to the life of an artist, but Spain will forever have a special place in my heart.
And as a lovely little bonus, I added a photo of us from our time in Spain (that was almost 20 years ago!). We definitely look like we are living our best lives in the early 2000s, ha!
The Inspiration:
I have always wanted to create a collection based on our time in Spain but I always struggled with where to start. There is so much inspiration everywhere you look. From the colours, to the music, to the plants (I so wish we could grow bouganvilla plants here), to the water to flamenco. It was easy to get overwhelmed. I finally decided to give myself permission to just start with the knowledge that I could always add to the collection later on.

Shop the New Prints:
I’m releasing two new prints from the collection today:
Pure Zest – a cheerful ode to lemons and bright beginnings
Stay Cool, Gorgeous – inspired by the elegance of a Spanish fan, surrounded by blooms and good energy.
Both are available now in my shop as art prints — perfect for adding a little sunshine to your walls.
And now the bonus you have all been waiting for....the pic of us in A Coruña, Spain. There is so much to say about this pic beside the beautiful location; the photo quality, the hair, the pants, the sunglasses! Ha!

I'd love to know what you think! Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for being part of this crazy creative adventure with me—it means the world! 💕
xo,
Rosalinde
